Went for a walk by the river after my little Sunday french-toast and coffee ritual at the Red Geranium this morning. Had the first bald eagle sighting of the season! Scared him up out of one of the tall trees that seem to be their usual haunts. Watched a piece of his white underbelly down float slowly to the ground, as he flew across the river and gradually started climbing up, up, up on a thermal.
Also saw the new addition to the swan population on the lake at the Inn, two of them now. And the great blue heron that’s usually stalking around the lake. A fine October morning, indeed.
